Limited Edition Custom
Motorcycle to Benefit the
Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum

Texas Rangers Capt. Kirby Dendy, Capt.. Richard Sweaney, Capt. Barry Caver,
Sgt. Matt Cawthon, Lt. George Turner and Chief Ray Coffman unveil the
Texas Ranger Edition LDT Customs Cycle at the Hall of Fame.

Waco, Texas — A unique custom motorcycle design honoring the world-famous Texas Rangers premiered at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco on Friday, June 2.

The museum, the State-designated historical center of the Texas Rangers, has licensed LDT customs of Vanderpool, Texas to make 100 of these limited edition hand-built pro-street bikes as a fund raiser.

The first bike, pictured here, Serial Number 001, will be auctioned off to benefit the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. A royalty on bikes #002-100, priced at $55,000, will support the educational and preservation programs of the world-famous museum.

Fred Hathorn, President of LDT Customs, described the project “We wanted to build a bike of such quality and ruggedness that it would compliment the Texas Ranger tradition."

The bike will be built by Mike Phillips of Grandeur Cycles, a federally licensed motorcycle builder since 2000. His bikes have been featured in well-known motorcycle magazines including Hot Bike, Street Chopper, Hot Rod Bike, American Iron, Easyriders, Biker, V-Twin and many European publications in addition to the prestigious hard cover book, "The Ultimate Guide to Choppers." He and his machines have also appeared on numerous TV shows. “We are very excited, and proud, to be part of a project which benefits the official historical center of the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency.”

Hathorn and Phillips have assured that this will be a memorable limited edition of bikes. It will have a powerful Pro-Series® 121 cubic inch motor by TP Engineering, a 6-speed Baker transmission, a tough Mean Street front end made of aircraft-grade aluminum and an open belt drive. The bike will be easy to shift with a Super Auto Clutch that was designed by builder Mike Phillips and won the V-Twin Excellence Award for the 2006 Tech Product of the Year.

To evoke the heritage of the Texas Rangers it will be custom painted with the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame™ logo and symbols of the Texas Ranger service. The brake and clutch levers will resemble the levers of Ranger-favorite Winchester rifles and the chrome wheels will recall the Texas Ranger star. The few lucky riders will sit on handmade "saddle" seats made by third generation master saddler, Phil Harris and master craftsman Mike Parks of Harris Leather and Silverworks.

LDT Customs will limit production of this series to 100 bikes. A donation from the sale of each bike will go to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum.

Each purchase of the limited edition silver series will be accompanied by a certificate from the museum signed by an active or distinguished retired Captain of the Texas Rangers. Their names will be engraved on a plaque at the museum.

In addition, as a special benefit for the museum, bike #1 in the series will auctioned off (with reserve) to benefit the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. The highest bidder will receive round-trip airfare for (2) to Waco, TX, accommodations and limousine service to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, where the bike will be awarded on behalf of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame by a Texas Ranger Captain.
